I think this is a great idea - having a blo g about the work that you're doing, for motivation, and for keeping track of progress.

I think I'll do something similar for myself. Thank you for the encouragement and great application of an idea.

Good luck with your lessons.

Yeah for you! How brave to memorize.

I am a piano teacher and have most of my blogs on piano. Check out the one on memorizing. It may provide some tricks that are helpful.
Also, I am offering virtual piano lessons. There's a blog on that too if you are interested.
Keep on playing and enjoy!

You betcha. I'm feeling overextended, so even though I could take about 6 lessons for the summer semester, I have decided not to. I'm looking forward to working at my own pace on this Clementi sonata, without the extra lesson material. Once I feel rested I'd like to review the Bach C maj 2-pt invention I did last summer, and maybe start working on the one in F maj.

Do you mean that you're looking forward to summer because that's when piano lessons end for the semester?

It is by Elyse Mach, entitled Contemporary Class Piano. The ISBN is 0-19-516688-4, published by Oxford Univ Press, (c) 2004, 6th edition (561 pages). Looks like we're about halfway through!

I'm looking forward to reading about your notebook.

I've been browsing through your interesting practice log. How detailed and diligent you are!

What is the Mach book that you are using for piano? I Googled Mach and found a book by Elyse Mach, but it said it was 288 pages. I notice that the book you're using has more pages than that.

While I was "woodshedding" for our recent concert I came up with a notebook method that seems to be helping me with my practicing. I'll probably blog about it one of these days.

Happy practicing! (and happy blogging)

I have mixed feelings about that. More music at lesson = more preparatory time needed to get even more music ready for next lesson. OTOH, this may point up the benefit of having three weeks between lessons to prepare...

Ah, most of my lessons focus on a couple of phrases too. It is good to play though a couple of things now and then.
